Basic Painting settings tab

You'll find several settings here. Try and play with them. Some settings are similar to others.



Intensity

Intensity controls the strength of the current painting tool.
The four buttons controls the fading:

  • Constant fade - the intensity remains the same
  • Fade In - the intensity fades in specified by the Fade Length trackbar (when you move the cursor)
  • Fade Out - the intensity fades out specified by the Fade Length trackbar (when you move the cursor)
  • Tablet pressure - the tablet cotrols the pressure

Intensity jitter: Randomizes the intensity
Min. Intensity: Controls the minimum intensity

Examples: High Intensity values to Low Intensity values



Size

Size controls the size of the current painting tool.
The four buttons controls the fading:

  • Constant size - the size remains the same
  • Fade In - the size grows specified by the Fade Length trackbar
  • Fade Out - the size gets smaller specified by the Fade Length trackbar
  • Tablet pressure - the tablet cotrols the size

Size jitter: Randomizes the brush size
Min. Size: Controls the minimum size

Examples: Low Size values to High Size values



Spacing

Spacing controls the distance between the dots.

Examples: Low Spacing values to High Spacing values

 



Scatter

Scatter controls the randomness of the dots. Higher values creates spray like effects.

Examples: Low Scatter values to High Scatter values

 



Hardness

Hardness controls the softness of the brush. If you use texturess this value has no meaning.

Examples: Low Hardness values to High Hardness values


Rotation

Rotation controls the brush rotation. To follow the brush movement check the Auto Rotation checkbox.

Examples: Auto rotation Off, Auto rotation On



Scale

Scale your brush up or down with these controls. You can scale X or Y direction. The two Jitter trackbar controls the randomness of the scale.

Examples: Random Scale values (X & Y differs)

 



Brush Preview Position

Modify the position of the Brush Preview Window. Simply click on the gray box and move the preview window around.
